In particular, the novelty to which we are referring concerns in this case the Google Recorder website, introduced over a year ago as part of the changes for the backups of the application dedicated to Android devices (you can reach it by following this link).
Well, in addition to the buttons to pause and restart playback, bring the audio backward by 5 seconds and advance the playback by 10 seconds, the row of controls at the bottom also includes a button to manage the playback speed, which can be enriches with another option.
In this regard, we remind you that the system saves the current preference (so that the user does not have to select it at each new access) and with a touch it is possible to choose between the various alternatives available: 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x and 3x.
It should be noted that this new speed, namely 3x, is an option that even YouTube does not offer (and which instead is present in Google Podcasts).
Undoubtedly, the ability to manage the playback speed of a recording is a highly appreciated feature that may prove to be very useful. For example, the slower option could be convenient when reviewing and manually correcting errors in automated transcription, while the faster option may be ideal for quickly finding a specific part of the recording.
The website's playback speed controls were introduced last March and we are sure they would be highly appreciated by users in the Android application as well.
