With a post on the official blog, the Google team wanted to highlight the richness of functionality of this application, which should not be considered only a search engine.
Starting with the search features, you can use text and images at the same time to search for those hard-to-express queries: just open the Google app, tap the Google Lens icon, choose whether to use an image or take a photo and then scroll up and tap the “+ Add to your search” button to add some text.
- And again, again with regard to the search features, you can use your voice (by touching the microphone icon) to search for information or a product. But the Google App also allows for example to hum or whistle a song for 10/15 seconds and ask "What song is it?" or press the “Search for a song” button.
- Those who want to stay up to date on the topics of their interest can instead take advantage of Discover, a feature that allows you to view the latest news on sports teams, celebrities and more.
- But the Google App also offers productivity features, such as the ability to create calendar events (and view updates) through Google Assistant, copy handwritten notes with Google Lens, send messages or make calls with Google Assistant.
- Finally, the app of the Mountain View giant can also be used to translate text (and this also through the camera with Google Lens), receive a hand to learn the basic concepts of various school subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc. .) and try the potential of AR (for example by viewing animals and monuments in 3D).
