The product will most likely be the first non-Samsung smartwatch to hit the market with Wear OS 3, currently the latest version of Google's wrist-based operating system.
Like its predecessors (at the moment in the catalog we find the three Summit 2, Summit 2+ and Summit Lite models), the next Montblanc Summit 3 will also arrive on the market (next July 15) at a price that is not exactly cheap: the house of white star, in fact, should propose this smartwatch, which combines the functionality of a smartwatch with a real fashion accessory, at the price of € 1250.
The real news probably lies in the fact that Montblanc Summit 3, as anticipated at the opening, will be the first smartwatch not produced by Samsung but equipped with Wear OS 3, the most significant update of the operating system for wearable devices produced by the Mountain View giant in collaboration close with Samsung.
For the first time, therefore, we may be able to try Wear OS 3 without all the furnishings introduced by the customization with which Samsung has equipped its smartwatches presented with this operating system on board, or the very lucky Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic of the last one. year, true matadors in the smartwatch segment.
Wear OS 3 should improve the previous Wear OS 2 declination in many respects, but mainly from the point of view of autonomy, speed in loading and fluidity of animations: once the smartwatch becomes official, we will have the litmus test. Of course, there are also other smartwatches with Wear OS 3 on the way but, for example, for the Google Pixel Watch we will have to wait a few more months (at least autumn).
The Mobvoi and Fossil smartwatches, currently equipped with Wear OS 2, should receive the update to Wear OS 3 by the end of the year: at first, Fossil shared a post through its official social support accounts. which indicated June or July as the period for updating their smartwatches but the post was subsequently deleted and official announcements are missing.
The main features of the smartwatch:
The Montblanc Summit 3, based on Qualcomm’s reliable Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus platform, comes nearly four years after its predecessor Montblanc Summit 2, equipped with the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform (also from Qualcomm), officially announced in October 2018.
it is equipped with the classic features offered by a latest generation smartwatch: it supports pedometer, sleep monitoring, blood oxygen measurement and monitors workouts. Thanks to Google services, users will be able to receive driving directions with Google Maps, make contactless payments via Google Pay and download additional apps via the Google Play Store.
With the purchase of the smartwatch, customers will receive two straps, one in leather and one in rubber. Montblanc Summit 3 will come in three colors: Silver Titanium (with black leather or blue rubber strap), Black Titanium (with black leather and black rubber strap) and a combination of the two (black dial, silver case, with black rubber strap) green leather and black rubber).
To officially get to know the latest smartwatch created by Montblanc, as anticipated, it will be sufficient to wait until July 15, the date of its global presentation.
