For the 10R, which enriches the OnePlus 10 range, there is the SoC signed by MediaTek and a very fast recharge in addition to the promise of 3 major updates. Also noteworthy is the launch of the new TWS OnePlus Nord Buds headphones, cheap but, on paper, characterized by excellent specifications. So let's see all the details and the first official images of the new smartphones and headphones presented today by OnePlus:
Let's start with the most interesting and complete OnePlus 10R. The smartphone is certainly not an absolute novelty. It is, in fact, the version intended for the global market (for now India) of the OnePlus Ace, a smartphone unveiled last week in China. Both smartphones are born as a direct evolution of the Realme GT Neo3 from which they inherit the support for fast charging from 150 W.
The new OnePlus 10R arrives on the market in two variants. The first is equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery and 150 W SUPERVOOC fast charging support. Using the charger in the package, the smartphone needs 17 minutes to go from 1% to 100% charge and just 3 minutes. to go from 1% to 30%. The second variant of the new OnePlus 10R is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery with SUPERVOOC fast charging from "just" 80 W. In this case, a full charge, from 1% to 100%, takes 32 minutes.
According to what was anticipated by the company, the presence of the Smart Battery Health Algorithm and Healing Technology functions will reduce the risks of battery degradation. Despite the presence of 150 W fast charging, in fact, the smartphone will be able to maintain approximately 80% of the battery capacity after 1,600 charging cycles (double the standard normally set by the mobile industry).
It should also be noted that there are also two colors provided for the smartphone. The variants in question are called Sierra Black and Forrest Green. As you can see directly from the official images, the smartphone, in the back, has a particular finish with a knurled and a smooth part. It will be necessary to check the performance of these solutions by touch.
As for the technical specifications, the new OnePlus 10R does not present substantial surprises. At the heart of the project is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC which, compared to the standard version of MediaTek's SoC, can count on a slightly higher clock (2.85 GHz vs 2.75 GHz) for the Cortex A78 cores. The SoC is supported by 8/12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. To report the presence of a 6.7-inch diagonal display with AMOLED panel, Full HD + resolution and variable refresh up to a maximum of 120 Hz.
The photographic sector of the new OnePlus smartphone includes a triple rear camera. The main sensor is 50 Megapixel with f / 1.8 aperture. This is a Sony IMX766, already used in the past by the company, for example on OnePlus Nord 2. It should be noted the presence of an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for macros. The front camera is 16 Megapixel.
On the software side, the new OnePlus 10R arrives on the market with Android 12, OxygenOS 12.1 and the guarantee of 3 major updates and four years of security updates. As for the price (referring to the Indian market), it starts from just under 500 euros (variant from 80 W with 8/128 GB). The most complete version of the OnePlus 10R, the only one with 150 W charging, as well as 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, is available for the equivalent of 550 euros. Prices are only indicated, of course. In the event of a debut in Europe, in fact, it is reasonable to expect significantly higher prices.
Let's move on to the second novelty unveiled today by OnePlus which joins the 10R. We are talking about the new OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. The smartphone in question is an absolute novelty and not a rebrand of a smartphone just launched in China. The new OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is, in fact, one of the new access proposals to the brand's range and, with this role, it could also arrive in Europe in the near future.
The smartphone data sheet includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC which takes the place of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 used by Nord CE 2. The SoC is supported by 6/128 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Note the presence of an IPS LCD display characterized by a diagonal of 6.58 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Among the technical specifications there is also room for a 5,000 mAh battery with 33 W charging support.
As for the photographic sector, however, we find a triple rear camera. The main sensor is 64 Megapixel with f / 1.79 aperture and is supported by two 2 Megapixel sensors, one for macro and one for depth of field., The front camera is 16 Megapixel. Note that there is also a 3.5 mm audio jack as well as a fingerprint sensor under the display.
On the software side, the new OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G arrives on the market with Android 12 and OxygenOS 12.1 as well as with the promise of 2 major guaranteed updates and 3 years of security updates. As for the sale price, however, it starts from just under the equivalent of 250 euros (again referring to the Indian market). In case of launch in Europe, however, the reference to consider is that of the recent OnePlus Nord CE 2 which, in our market, starts at 359 euros.
In addition to the two new smartphones, 10R and Nord CE 2 Lite, the OnePlus range also records the debut of the new Nord Buds. These are the new TWS headphones of the brand that aim to conquer users thanks to excellent value for money. The new OnePlus Nord Buds include Dolby Atmos support (but only for OnePlus flagships starting with the 7 series) and promise up to 7 hours of use on a single charge. The case combined with the headphones also guarantees another 23 hours of autonomy. It should be noted that there is support for fast charging (10 minutes of charging are enough for 5 hours of playtime) and IP55 certification.
Among the specifications we find four microphones, for capturing good quality audio during calls, Bluetooth 5.2 support, a reduced latency mode (94 ms) with some OnePlus smartphones and the USB-C port for charging the case. The new Nord Buds arrive on the market in the Black Slate and White Marble variants (shown in the official image above). As for the selling price, in India, the new TWS headphones from OnePlus Nord will hit the market at the equivalent of 37 euros.
