With the "All-in fun" event scheduled for 2:00 pm on September 5, 2022, the Chinese manufacturer POCO, an increasingly well-known brand in the Xiaomi panorama, will globally announce the two new low-mid-range Android smartphones POCO M5 and POCO M5s, devices of which we do not yet know the official prices at which they will be offered or when they will be made available.
Thanks to the product pages published in preview on the Aliexpress portal, however, we become aware of the colors and memory configurations in which the smartphones will be marketed.

Meanwhile, thanks to the rumors reported a few days ago by the Pricebaba portal, to what is reported on the product pages on Aliexpress and to what is reported in the section dedicated to the smartphone launch event on the official Xiaomi website, let's try to take stock of what we can expect us from the two smartphones.
POCO M5
The smartphone, which will be launched by Xiaomi with the motto "The performance player", will present a front characterized by pronounced hair frames (especially in the chin part) and by the presence of a drop notch that will house the single front camera. Xiaomi announces that the smartphone will be based on MediaTek's recent Helio G99 platform, a solution made with a 6 nm production process and characterized by an octa-core CPU (2x Cortex-A76 at 2.2 GHz + 6x Cortex-A55 at 2 GHz), the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and a modem that does not support 5G networks. Another official specification concerns the display that will offer a Full HD + resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate (technology called DynamicSwitch): previously, through the Pricebaba portal, rumors were leaked that suggested a 6.58-inch diagonal and a technology LCD for the panel. Relying solely on previously leaked rumors, finally, POCO M5 should offer a 5000 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging, a lateral fingerprint reader, support for dual SIM, 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and to Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5 mm audio jack and should arrive on the market with the MIUI 13 based on Android 12.

POCO M5s, which will be launched on the market with the motto "The fun magician", is a little more shrouded in shadow than the brother we mentioned above. Aesthetically, we know the front which loses the notch in favor of a circular hole configuration (centered) to contain the front camera, features that give the device an undoubtedly more premium appearance. The smartphone was recently certified by TUV Rheinland with the model code 2207117BPG: according to what reported by GSMArena, the smartphone should trivially be a rebrand of the Redmi Note 11 SE recently presented in India and rose to prominence to be the first smartphone of the Chinese manufacturer without charger supplied. If this rumor turns out to be correct, the smartphone would be based on MediaTek's Helio G95 platform.
