According to a post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, the upcoming SD 7 series chipset might feature four Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and four Cortex A510 cores clocked at 1.80GHz. As per further leaks, it has been claimed that it will be 1 4nm chipset having an Adreno 662 GPU and another rumour is that it will be manufactured by Samsung.
Qualcomm is reportedly working on a next-generation mid-range SD 7 series chip. Although no official announcements have been made about the SOC. We do have some leaked information about it- According to a post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, the upcoming SD 7 series chipset might feature four Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and four Cortex A510 cores clocked at 1.80GHz. As per further leaks, it has been claimed that it will be 1 4nm chipset having an Adreno 662 GPU and another rumour is that it will be manufactured by Samsung. Based on the info, we can say that the upcoming chip will be a mid-tier performer leaving it mark right below the Flagship grade Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Because the SD 8 Gen 1 too uses Cortex-A710, Cortex-A510 performance and efficiency cores. But it gets a performance advantage by swapping out one of the Cortex-A710 with a more powerful Cortex-X2 core. The new chip might not perform like the 8 Gen 1 in terms of graphically intensive tasks. But it might outperform the older SD 888 (packing an Adreno 660 GPU). The leaked potential of the chip can't be confirmed until we get our hands on it. The upcoming chip might be tagged as Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 , based on Qualcomm's revised branding concept. Unfortunately, we do not have any confirmation from Qualcomm itself. Source - XDA Author - Ayush Ray
