Xiaomi has released the Redmi Note 12 5G, the base model of the latest Redmi Note 12 series, which is also the most affordable of the three. The device boasts a 6.67 inch Samsung AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits peak brightness, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC and comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 internal storage.
The Redmi Note 12 5G runs on Android 12 with MIUI 13 custom skin and features a triple camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48 megapixel primary sensor, an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 2 megapixel shooter. The front camera is an 8 megapixel lens.
The device is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging and has a number of other features, including a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP53 rating, IR blaster, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, slim 7.9mm thickness, and a hybrid SIM card slot that allows for memory expansion up to 1TB with a microSD card.
he Redmi Note 12 5G will be available in Matte Black, Mystique Blue, and Frosted Green and goes on sale on January 11, with prices starting at INR 16,499 (around $199) for the 4GB + 128GB variant and INR 18,499 (around $223) for the 6GB + 128GB version. There are also discounts available for Xiaomi/Redmi phone exchanges and ICICI bank card holders.
Redmi Note 12 Pro/Pro+
Both the Redmi Note 12 and Note 12 Pro come equipped with a 6.67-inch centered punch-hole OLED display that has a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels (FHD+), a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 1920Hz PWM dimming, and a 16,000 level dimming. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, supports a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, has a 10-bit color depth, can reach a peak brightness level of 900 nits, and is compatible with HDR10+, HDR10, and Dolby Vision. Both devices are powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, have LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, and run MIUI 13 on top of Android 12.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a starting price of INR 24,999 (around $323) for the 6GB + 128GB configuration, INR 26,999 (around $352) for the 8GB + 128GB configuration, and INR 27,999 (around $367) for the 8GB + 256GB configuration. It will be available in Stardust Purple, Frosted Blue, and Onyx Black. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus has a starting price of INR 29,999 (around $393) for the 8GB + 256GB configuration and INR 32,999 (around $430) for the 12GB + 256GB configuration, and will be available in Arctic White, Iceberg Blue, and Obsidian Black. Both models will be available for purchase starting January 11 through mi.com, Mi Home, Flipkart, and retail outlets, with discounts available for ICICI Bank card holders and exchanges.
