The company has not yet used this sensor in one of its smartphones which only recently appeared in a Motorola prototype, however it appears that Samsung is already preparing the launch of the successor.
GalaxyClub reports that it has learned that Samsung is about to introduce ISOCELL HP3, the second generation of its 200MP photo sensor.
At the moment, the source does not have further technical details regarding the ISOCELL HP3, much less in which Samsung smartphones it will be used.
However, the fact that the company is already close to releasing an improved version of the ISOCELL HP1 increases the chances that the new 200MP sensor may soon debut in some smartphones.
In any case, it appears unlikely that the ISOCELL HP3 sensor will be used in Samsung's next flagship smartphones. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 foldable smartphones will likely rely on less experimental sensors.
On the other hand, only thanks to the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra does the 108 MP camera sensor begin to bring concrete advantages in terms of capturing sharper details.
