The update in question brings the security patches of June 2022 to the three top smartphones last year, which should include dozens of corrections for as many vulnerabilities related to both security and privacy.
Once the update has been downloaded and installed, the new firmware is marked with the initials G998BXXU5CVEB and, in addition to the June security patches, should bring with it general improvements to stability and the resolution of some of the bugs encountered by users with previous software versions. (unfortunately the official changelog does not provide many details about it).
In essence, it is an update that does not bring revolution to the user experience, limiting itself to improving the overall pleasantness of use of the Korean giant's smartphones.
At the moment the availability of this update has been reported for the Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra marketed in Germany but within a few days it should also reach those sold in the other countries of the Old Continent (except of course the case in which it should be found some relevant bugs that recommend suspending the update release operations).
How to download the new firmware:
When the update is actually available, owners of Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra will be notified through a notification and will be able to download and install it via OTA (directly from the device).
The most impatient can still carry out a manual check of its availability, by going to the Settings menu, scrolling to the section dedicated to software updates and starting the check.
