It has been reported that Vivo is developing two foldable phones, the Vivo X Fold 2 and the Vivo X Flip, for release in China during the first half of 2022. The Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to have a foldable screen with a 2K resolution and an under-screen fingerprint scanner on both the front and inner displays, according to a reliable tipster. According to the tipster, the Vivo X Fold 2 will feature an OIS-enabled Sony IMX866 primary camera and be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It is expected to be a lightweight device, potentially lighter than the 311 grams of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Vivo X Fold that was released in the first half of 2022. There is limited information available about the Vivo X Flip, but it is known to feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The tipster also stated that Vivo does not plan to release a successor to the Vivo X Note, which had a 7-inch OLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 50-megapixel quad cameras, and a 5,000mAh battery. In the coming year, Vivo is expected to release only one generation of X-series phones, following the release of the Vivo X80 series and the Vivo X90 lineup this year. Author-Anurag
