Today, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series has been released in global markets. The series consists of two models: the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate, which follow on from the ROG Phone 6 series launched last year. While maintaining the same design as their predecessors, the ROG Phone 7 series offers improved hardware features.
ASUS has launched the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate models which have a horizontal camera module on the back panel. The 7 Ultimate has an additional small display on the back to display the Republic of Gamers logo, animation, or messages. It also has an AeroActive portal which opens up to allow air directly onto the built-in vapor chamber, which is compatible with the AeroActive Cooler 7 accessory. The accessory has a 5-magnet super linear subwoofer with a 13*38mm speaker for more sound depth and is claimed to increase cooling efficiency by 20%. The ASUS ROG Phone 7 series also features dual stereo speakers with sound tuned by Dirac and support for spatial audio.
The ASUS ROG Phone 7 models come with a 6.8-inch E4 AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and Gorilla Glass Victus. It also has a fingerprint scanner integrated into the screen. The gaming phones are IP54-certified dust and waterproof.
The gaming phones have AirTrigger ultrasonic air shoulder controls with support for gestures and X-Axis linear motor for realistic haptic feedback. They also have a comprehensive cooling system with a Boron Nitride layer, dual graphite sheets, and a rapid cycle vapor chamber for heat dissipation.
Under the hood, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 duo houses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. There is also ray tracing onboard for supported games. The gaming phones have a 6,000mAh battery unit with 65W charging.
The ROG Phone 7 series has a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera paired with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5MP macro unit, and a 32MP front-facing selfie snapper.
