After three months of testing, thanks to the users registered in the Beta 12 Beta program, Google started the roll out of the Quarter Platform Release 3, which brings the version of the green robot to number 12.1. For Google it is a particularly complete update, since it includes the safety patches of the month of June and the most recent Feature Drop, even if there are not many news available for users.
As we said, however, the new update brings the definitive version of QPR3, which started a few months ago by Google and arrived today at the final version. QPR3 does not bring particular news for users, we only report the movement of the battery widget to the battery section instead of services, and the possibility of showing the vibration icon in the status bar.
The most interesting novelty, which will please those who participate in the Beta program, is the possibility of abandoning the program after installing this update, without seeing the content of the smartphone canceled as happened with the previous beta. This is because in fact the beta program of Android 12 has come to an end and has been replaced by the beta program for Android 13, now in the second beta.
Previously, in fact, users had the opportunity to leave the beta program at any time, except in having to endure a complete restoration of the system and having to reconfigure all their applications. In any case, over the next few weeks the devices included in the Beta 12 Beta program will be automatically removed by Google without that, even in this case, there is any discomfort for the end user.
Travelers who want to participate in the Android 13 beta program will in any case have to get out of the Android 12 beta program, after installing this last update, and register for the beta program of the most recent version, since the passage will not be in no case automatic.
Finally, remember that the patches are available for all the still supported pixels, starting from Google Pixel 4, passing through all the intermediate smartphones up to the most recent Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro.
