Motorola has expanded its Edge line and unveiled the high-end Edge 30 Ultra in India, as previously announced. It was released last week on the global market. The phone is the world's first to have a 200MP camera and is really the renamed Moto X30 Pro, which was released in China last month.
The display on the front is a 6.67-inch Endless Edge OLED with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1250 nits of peak brightness, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit colors, and HDR10+ support. The display also supports Edge Lighting, which illuminates the phone in response to alerts, incoming calls, and other events. In addition, the display has an in-display fingerprint scanner and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It has the newest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The major attraction of this smartphone is its 200MP main camera with the Samsung HP1 sensor and OIS. It has a 1/1.22′′ sensor, 0.64m pixel size, and 16-in-1 Ultra Pixel Binning technology. This is supplemented with a 50MP ultra-wide lens (which also functions as a maco camera) and a 12MP portrait camera. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 60MP and supports Quad Pixel Technology. 8K films, slow-motion videos, Long Exposure, Live filters, Dual Capture, Night Vision, Portrait mode, and other camera functions are supported.
Another appealing feature of the Edge 30 Ultra is its 4,610mAh battery with 125W TurboPower rapid charging, which can deliver a day's charge in only 7 minutes. It also has 50W wireless charging and 10W wireless power sharing capabilities. It runs a near-stock version of Android 12. Motorola promises three years of major software upgrades and four years of security patches.
