The Moto X40 will be launched in China on December 15th. It will be the successor to the X30, which was introduced last year. Till now, only a 4,600mAh battery pack with 125W charging capabilities has been teased for the smartphone. The device has now been seen on China's 3C certification website, suggesting that it would be available in two varieties with varying charging speeds.
According to 3C, the Moto X40 is model number XT2301-5. It shows a 68W charger with the model number MC-668N and a 125W GaN charger with the model number MC-1258. The current news is consistent with the TENAA filing, which disclosed the Moto X40 in two models with varying battery capacity and charging rates. A 5,000mAh battery cell will power the X40 model at 68W speed.
The Moto X40 has been confirmed to have IP68 dust and water resistance certification. It will have a punch-hole display with a curved screen in the centre. The smartphone will include a horizontal lock camera mode, which is described as an action camera mode.
Aside from that, the Moto X40's other specifications are unknown. It will have a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ compatibility. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will have up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
