According to a recent report from Dealabs, the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to launch with a starting price of €729 in France, representing a staggering over-50% price increase compared to its predecessor. It remains uncertain whether the price hike will be consistent across different regions, leaving potential customers in the UK, US, and other parts of Europe eagerly awaiting official pricing announcements. The quoted price corresponds to the base model of the Phone (2) with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. Additionally, a higher-end variant boasting 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM could be available at €849.
Enhanced Specifications
While the significant price increase may be a tough pill to swallow, the Nothing Phone (2) does promise noteworthy upgrades that justify the elevated cost. One prominent enhancement lies in the device's processing power, as it will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This marks a substantial leap in raw performance when compared to the Snapdragon 778 used in the Phone (1). This boosted processing power is expected to deliver a seamless user experience and improved multitasking capabilities.
Smartwatch Speculations
In the midst of the Nothing Phone (2) buzz, speculation has also arisen regarding Nothing's potential entry into the smartwatch market. Noted technology insider Mukul Sharma, known as @stufflistings, recently uncovered a trademark filing from Nothing that hints at the company's foray into the smartwatch segment. While details are scarce regarding the timeline or seriousness of this venture, a smartwatch release would align with Nothing's ambition to offer a comprehensive ecosystem akin to the "iPhone of Android." The potential addition of a smartwatch to Nothing's lineup adds an intriguing layer of anticipation for tech enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the brand's next move.
