The feature in question was introduced on the Google Pixel 4 series, representing the only solution available for unlocking Google's 2019 smartphones (which did not have a fingerprint scanner). This system uses 3D mapping to provide secure facial recognition, verifying the user's identity to unlock the phone, open certain applications or complete financial transactions.
Well, if at the end of March some reference to Face Unlock was found in the code of the Google operating system, thanks to a user on Reddit we could have another proof that this feature is really being implemented for the latest generation of smartphone of the Mountain View colossus.
