OnePlus is said to be developing two foldable phones, with a trademark filed under the names "OnePlus V Fold" and "OnePlus V Flip" with the China National Intellectual Property Administration. The filing is still active. The names suggest a clamshell and tablet design, similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold. No further information is available from the trademark listing
OnePlus has been expanding its product line with new launches in recent times. After introducing monitors in India last month, the brand is preparing to launch its first tablet and mechanical keyboard at a global event next week. As a subsidiary of BBK Electronics, which also owns OPPO and Vivo, it's not surprising for OnePlus to join the foldable smartphone market.
OPPO has already entered the foldable smartphone market, launching the Find N2 and Find 2 Flip last month in China. Additionally, co-founder Pete Lau played a key role in the development of OPPO's Find N folding smartphone in 2021. Given the similarities between OnePlus and OPPO's flagship devices, it's possible that the upcoming OnePlus V Fold and V Flip could be similar to the Find N2 and N2 Flip.
