In particular, in the first three months of this year the revenues of the Korean manufacturer increased by 18% while the operating profit even increased by 51% compared to the first quarter of 2021.
During the first three months of 2022, the Korean giant managed to register approximately 61 billion dollars in revenue, with an operating profit of approximately 11 billion dollars.
And if you are wondering which are the sectors in which Samsung has performed best, the answer is that of semiconductors: the division dedicated to the production of chips, in fact, contributed to more than half of the company's operating profit.
But the divisions that deal with the production of memories and mobile displays also performed well, the latter also helped by the restart of the smartphone sector (Samsung Display supplied most of the OLED screens used on iPhone and Samsung Galaxy), although large screens have also seen high demand.
Moving on to the smartphone sector, the Korean manufacturer said it was satisfied with the results recorded by the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and in particular by the Ultra model. But the company's other smartphones also performed well, especially those with support for 5G connectivity, which is the technical feature that is helping the entire mobile sector to restart after the crisis generated by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The numbers recorded by the smart TV business were less exciting, also due to the decrease in demand following the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which did not allow the sector to recover after the already difficult period of the pandemic.
In any case, the Korean giant said he was optimistic for the rest of the year. We'll see.
