Android 13 was officially presented with the release of the first Developer Preview on February 10th, but before seeing the stable release we will have to wait several months: if everything goes smoothly by April the first beta of the new operating system should be released, while the stable version could arrive in late summer or early autumn (perhaps together with the Google Pixel 7).
Samsung does not seem to have any intention of waiting until then to start testing One UI 5.0, the next major release designed for its smartphones and tablets and which will obviously be based on Android 13. According to Sammobile, the manufacturer would like to open the phase of beta testing in the next three or four months, in order to have time to refine the system and release it towards the end of autumn (or at least by the end of the year) for the first devices (which should be the Galaxy S22).
Obviously everything will depend on the continuation of development by Google, so the timing may vary (for better or for worse). What is certain is that many devices will receive the One UI 5.0 based on Android 13, also given the lengthening of the support period for flagships and beyond. The first to receive Android 13 among the ranks of the Seoul house will almost certainly be Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 +, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4, which will be followed by the high-end devices of the past years and so on. the others.
