Every year, Samsung introduces a fancier version of the Z Fold that is only available through China Telecom, like as the Samsung W22 from last year. The business is also producing a W Flip model for the first time, which is based (of course) on the Z Flip. It's a modernised version of the original W flip phones.
The technology in the Samsung W23 is roughly the same as that on the Galaxy Z Fold4, except that this is a premium tablet with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage (the Fold tops out at 12GB RAM).
However, the outside is everything, and the W phones are generally available in black and gold. The rear panel is made of black ceramic, and the metal hinge is adorned with ornamental engraving. The S Pen (available separately) has also been repainted (in black and gold) to match the phone.
The phone also has bespoke themes, the main one of which is inspired by Song Dynasty china.
The Samsung W23 is available for pre-order on the company's Chinese web shop, with a final price of CNY 16,000 (the first CNY 1,000 of which you pay as a deposit to reserve a place in line). A 12/512GB Galaxy Z Fold4 costs CNY 14,000 in contrast.
The Samsung W23 Flip borrows (most of) the hardware from the Galaxy Z Flip4 and dresses it up in W-series fashion. The W Flip, like its cousin, has greater RAM than the Z Flip (12GB vs. 8GB) and 512GB of storage.
